Summary: Adrenaline pumped through Special Agent Timothy McGee as he rounded the back of the suspect’s house

Adrenaline pumped through Special Agent Timothy McGee as he rounded the back of the suspect’s house. As in most cases, he strived to catch the murderer, but this one was slightly more personal.

Petty Officer Duncan Wilde had never denied being gay whilst he was in the Navy, if anything it was common knowledge -to those who knew him- but as it turned out not everyone had known. When Petty Officer Peter Thompson had found out he had been serving with a ‘queer’, he had been disgusted. So disgusted in fact, that he had broken into Wild’s apartment early the next morning, viciously stabbed Wilde’s boyfriend -a civilian called Josh Styles- in front of him. Then shot Wilde in the head.

McGee and his partner, Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo had questioned Thompson at his home, 5 hours later. He had denied knowing anything about the murders and had claimed that he had been in his house asleep at the time. The special agents had believed him, as at 2am on a Monday morning, most people would be asleep. Also he had seemed genuinely shocked when they had told him that his ‘friend’ Petty Officer Wilde had been murdered.

Appearances can be deceiving though, as Abby Scuito, NCIS’s forensic scientist had matched a strand of hair from the victim’s bedroom and a finger print on the front door handle to Thompson. Also from the questions they had been asking people who served with Wild, they had been told that Thompson was a well known homophobe.

This is how McGee had came to be walking, cautiously, round to cover the back of the house, as Special Agent Gibbs, Officer David and DiNozzo prepared to storm the front door. Walking soundlessly around, aiming his sig at the back door, Tim was preparing to tell Gibbs that he was in position when a voice startled him.

‘Hello again, Agent McGee’ was followed by a hand gun being cocked in Tim’s right ear, ‘If you could hand me your gun, slowly, I would very much appreciate it.’ Wordlessly McGee handed him the gun, putting his hands up, he desperately tried to think of how to get out of this position.

Thompson took McGee’s gun, unloaded it and tossed it to the left, landing about 15 feet away. ‘There now that wasn’t so hard was it? All you have to do, is do as I say and I might let your boyfriend live.’ Thompson held the gun against the side of Tim’s head, and slowly pulled him back from the house, until they were in the middle of the garden. He then took McGee’s radio and started speaking to the other agents, ‘Good afternoon agents Gibbs, David and of course DiNozzo. Timothy and I are in the garden, and we can’t wait for you to join us.’ He sneered.
