First ficlet

I'm new to the community and this is my first attempt at writing anything in NCIS fandom. Basically, last night I had a dream about Tony and Tim getting together, and unfortunately I can't remember a lot of it, but part of it was that Tony decided to stop calling McGee "probie" and use his actual name more often.

I decided to write down this part, and maybe/hopefully I can expand it more in the future.

Tony stepped into the elevator with his boss, just as he'd done hundreds, if not thousands, of times before. This time, however, Gibbs hit the "emergency stop" button.

"Dinozzo," Gibbs said.

Tony gulped, not knowing – but suspecting – what his boss wanted. "Yeah, boss?"

"About you and McGee."

"What about me and McGee?" Tony asked.

"You've stopped calling him 'probie,'" Gibbs observed.

"That's because he's not a probie anymore."

"That's been the case for a few years now, and it never stopped you before."

"Well, Ziva is the probie now," Tony answered.

"You've also started using his first name more often. You've started calling him Tim," Gibbs continued.

"He calls me Tony all the time. Why shouldn't I call him Tim?"

"No reason," Gibbs replied, "except that you never did before."

Tony shrugged nervously. "People change all the time, boss."

"That they do," Gibbs said softly as he restarted the elevator.

The elevator arrived at its destination, and Tony was about to step out when Gibbs said, "Dinozzo" again.

"What now, boss?"

Gibbs smacked Tony on the side of the head. "Don't hurt him."

I think that to Gibbs, it doesn't matter who his agents are dating/sleeping with/in a relationship with as long as it (a) it doesn't affect the job and (b) they don't get hurt.

Because Tony has a bit of a reputation, at least when it comes to women, and people think he's a love 'em and leave 'em type.
