I throw some thing we can play on during the scene to give it some life. I do that all the time with Tim McGee (Sean Murray), for example, I spend my time touching the fabric of his clothes or pick up something from his sweater, etc..
The scene in the Halloween episode, when Abby was Marilyn? After Tony found the blue costume of McGee and McGee says he was in an Armany shop, Tony touch his shirt, McGee move back, and Tony follow to open his vest and touch the shirt again. I guess it's one example of Michael's improvisation :D
