The Kinsey scale does suggest that some people are 100% gay, others are 100% straight but that most of the population is somewhere inbetween. There is a difference between sexuality and love but I see your point. I think maybe the reason he codes gay for me is because I can't see him as sexually attracted to anybody apart from Tim and there was always feelings along with that attraction.
